This project began with a competition run by The Berry Theatre and The Point, Eastleigh who were looking for submissions of a modern fairy tale. For some time I had this idea for a tale after seeing a partially demolished building; a third floor door open to the elements. I loved the potential this door had, having once served a purpose it now lead nowhere, or did it?
My idea was one of four selected for a development day at The Point, working with a dramaturg and cast members to create a fifteen minute performance of the story. This was then staged the following week along with the three other short plays.
From this production the idea has grown and I am now working on a full length script.
